Recovering from a From Blood and Ash Book Hangover

Hello, my name is Alyssa Flores and I’m a bookaholic. Point of fact: definitely not recovering. If you’re an avid book reader, you know all about book hangovers. Sometimes you just read something that’s so good you’re left bereft once you’ve finished it. You’ll start reading a book, fall in love, binge it, and then be disappointed when it ends. The next few days you have nothing to do. You just twiddle your thumbs while trying to find something worth your time. You’re heartbroken because there’s literally nothing else in the world to read (except for the ten books on your TBR shelf…). All you want is the next great story, the next great love interest, the next great heroine.

15 Signs You're Experiencing a Book Hangover

I understand this feeling and a LOT of people got book hangovers after reading the sexy novel by Jennfier Armentrout, From Blood and Ash. And I’m here to give you your next fix. If you loved that book and want to read more like it, then look no further than this quintessential list of books to get you through this book hangover.

#1: The Lux Series by Jennifer Armentrout

Aliens, super powers, and government conspiracies. If you like a little sci-fi with your hot aliens, this is the book for you. Although rated PG-13, it’s still a fun, romantic read.

#2: King of Battle and Blod by Scarlett St. Clair

If you’re looking for vampires and steamy scenes, this one’s for you. Isolde, a human princess, marries the murderous King Adrian (the hunky vampire) in order to save her people. As hate turns to lust and love, Isolde will have to decide where her true loyalties lie.

#3: Gild (The Plated Prisoner Series) by Raven Kennedy

You’ve got your powerful but submissive heroine that grows through the series, betrayal by the man she thinks she loves, and a lying scumbag that might be her only chance of freedom. Definitely worth the read!

#4: Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco

Looking for an enemies-to-lovers romance? This one will do it. With witches and vampires and a star-crossed romance, this book might be your next win.

#5: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Although the first book is a bit of a hardship to get through, the second and third book of this series make it absolutely worthwhile. Fae, an evil queen, and one girl that can save them all. Epic, right? And if you’re hoping for something a little more adult (*wink wink*), wait until the second book. Whew!

#6: Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa

Falling in love with the Bargainer is a mistake, but Callypso Lillis’s heart can’t help but beat for him. Even with the betrayal and heartbreak, she can’t help herself. Little does she know but the Bargainer can’t help himself either. Racey and delightful, this one is delicious.

#7: Radiance by Grace Draven

A fairy tale twist on Beauty and the Beast, Radiance is a sweet and sexy retelling. With one of the few couples that’s actually straightforward with each other, you won’t have any trouble falling in love with Brishen and Ildiko.

#8: Fighting Destiny (Fae Chronicles) by Amelia Hutchins

Hoping to recapture some of that passion you felt when reading From Blood and Ash? Get ready for this dark Fae prince and the girl that’s meant to kill him.

#9: Charcoal Tears by Jane Washington

A Powerful heroine, a psycho stalker, and four sexy love interests pack this book with a punch. Buyer beware: This book gets so steamy it starts to boil. If you’d rather not get into a reverse harem situation, skip this book.

#10: Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin

Two enemies fall in love in this magical tale filled with witches, religious zealots, and crazy mothers. If a witch and a witch hunter can fall in love and marry, anything is possible!

Demon Copperhead: Barbara Kingsolver can do no wrong!

“Eviction’s fallout is severe. Losing a home sends families to shelters, abandoned houses, and the street. It invites depression and illness, compels families to move into degrading housing in dangerous neighborhoods, uproots communities, and harms children. Eviction reveals people’s vulnerability and desperation, as well as their ingenuity and guts.” – Evicted by Matthew Desmond
