I get so psyched when books come out about witches and demons so you know I got excited about Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco. The ratings were good, Amazon and Goodreads kept recommending it to me, and every young adult list from here to Book Riot included it. So of course I picked it up…and then put it back down in disappointment.
As a Mexican American reader, I adore books written by hispanic authors. There’s always a touch of magical realism and an emphasis on the importance of food that warms my heart (and occasionally my belly). Being able to see yourself and connect with a character in a book let’s you get more invested in the story and feel like you’re recognized as a person.
Parallel universes, anti-heroes, and villains that collapse lungs with magic. Honestly, what’s a better book to read at book club?! Ready for something a little grittier than Untamed by Glennon Doyle (although a classic book club pick…)? Look no further than Chosen Ones by Veronica Roth.

Maybe because it’s the start of a new school year or because people want to stay indoors more with the cooler weather. Whatever the reason, Fall gets the most exciting book releases. Check out the list below and Feyble’s book release calendar for the book highlights of the season.
I love Marie Lu. The Legend and The Young Elite series are both great and so entertaining. Her stuff is good so I assumed The Kingdom of Back would be the same. But mostly, the book was just meh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Summer is quickly coming to an end and so are all of the wonderful summer romances. With that being said, 28 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand was the best way I could end my summer reading list.
Hollywood generally lets us down when it comes to book-to-movie adaptations. The acting is never that good or the movie leaves out two-thirds of the book (I’m looking at you Percy Jackson…). But some movies somehow really capture a book and it can be so magical! You get to see these characters that lived in your head come to life on screen with REAL people. How cool is that?!
