50 Best Books on Kindle Unlimited

Please tell me you have Kindle Unlimited because if you don’t you are obviously spending too much for books. You have Netflix, don’t you? Hulu maybe? Well Kindle Unlimited is practically the same thing but for books. You pay $10/month and get access to a s**t ton of books. Now, kind of like Netflix, not all the books are good. Some are downright bad but you’re not going to have that problem because I’ve made you a sweet list with all of the best books to read on Kindle Unlimited. I even organized it by genre. You’re welcome.

Fiction

#1: Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark Sullivan

A riveting tale of one man’s survival in Italy during World War II, this book is based on a true story of a forgotten hero and will be released to your TV soon. Pick it up before you get to watch the live action version!

#2: The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood

If you don’t have Hulu and haven’t heard of The Handmaid’s Tale, you are missing out. This riveting book set in the near future describes a world where a monotheocracy is the ruling body and women are repressed beyond belief. 

#3: When We Believed in Mermaids by Barbara O’Neal

Her sister has been dead for fifteen years so why is she on the TV news outside a club fire in New Zealand? A journey of two sisters and the childhood that forged them into the people they are today, this story questions whether sisters can reunite after unspeakable tragedy.

Sports romance always gets my G.O.A.T. (see what I did there?) and Mariana Zapata always delivers. With a quiet, introverted male lead and spunky heroine, this slow-burn love story is lighthearted and fun.

#13: Vicious (Sinners of Saint Book 1) by L.J. Shen

There’s a fine line between love and hate and L.J. Shen gets the right balance in Vicious. A brilliant, ruthless lawyer and a starving artist might not seem to go together but love gets even the worst of us, right?

Yes, I know. Mariana Zapata made it on this list twice! And honestly all of her books on Kindle Unlimited are great reads. But this slow-burn romance has you falling in love with both Ruby Santos and her soldier overseas. 

Sci-Fi/Fantasy

#21: Air Awakens by Elise Kova

The Air Awakens series by Elise Kova is a great fantasy read with elemental magic, powerful sorcerers, tides of war, and young love. Quick and easy to read, this is a great Kindle Unlimited find!

#22: 1984 by George Orwell

Yes, they even have 1984! Can you believe it? 1984 is a classic they used to make you read in school but if you hated it then, give it another shot now because there’s no way you won’t get into Winston’s forbidden love affair and his participation in a secret revolutionary organization.

#23: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

If you haven’t read The Hunger Games now is the perfect time because The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was released recently and now you can binge the entire series! Follow Katniss Everdeen in her attempt to take down the Capitol.

#24: The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

The first volume of The Lord of the Rings trilogy is available on Kindle Unlimited. Go with Frodo Baggins on his perilous quest to destroy the Ring and foil the Dark Lord in his evil purpose.

#25: The First Girl Child by Amy Harmon

Told like a fairy tale, this fantasy of a cursed kingdom, warring clans, and unexpected salvation follows Bayr of Saylock and his journey to defeat the king and bring peace at last to a plagued land.

#26: Wool by Hugh Howey

Well-written characters, intricate plot twists, and a little romance puts this book on my to-read list. This dark paranormal read follows a girl that begins a pawn but eventually becomes a queen.

#28: The Vine Witch by Luanne G. Smith

Growing grapes is magical in The Vine Witch where a young witch in turn-of-the-century France helps grow the vineyards at Chateau Renard. Grab a glass of wine and enjoy this well-written story about a vine witch and her vineyard.  

#29: Free the Darkness (King’s Dark Tidings Book 1) by Kel Kade

#30: We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis Taylor

#42: A River in Darkness by Masaji Ishikawa, Risa Kobayashi, et al.

This memoir of Ishikawa candidly recounts his upbringing, the time he spent barely living in North Korea, and his harrowing escape. Ishikawa’s indomitable spirit shines in this novel.

#43: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

Need a little help to get you motivated this year? Check out this book that gives you seven habits that will help make you a successful person.

#44: An American Princess: The Many Lives of Allene Tew by Annejet van der Zijl & Michele Hutchinson

An interesting tale of a woman trying to find her place in the world. Over the course of four marriages, one world war, and the Russian Revolution, this story will about Allene Tew’s life will keep you intrigued from beginning to end.

#45: The Warner Boys by Curt & Ana Warner

Curt Warner was a Seahawks star running back but after retirement, he and his family fell off the map. The book details his family’s life after their twin boys are diagnosed with severe autism. A true look into a family’s struggle for healing and peace.

#46: The Accidental President by A. J. Baime

There are not enough books on Harry S. Truman’s administration. But this book weaves Truman’s story into a narrative that is easy to read and understand. A great biography on a man thrust into the presidency.

#47: Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick

The Pitch Perfect star gives us a funny collection of autobiographical essays. She uses humorous and charming stories and observations to give an in-depth look into her brain. Great of you’re looking for a quick and easy read!

#48: What If? by Randall Munroe

Ever wonder if you could build a jetback using downward-firing machine guns? Probably not, but you might be wondering it right now. Read What If? to enjoy Munroe’s gleeful responses to that and many other absurd and hypothetical questions.

#49: Exceptionally Bad Dad Jokes by Spiffy McChappy

Need something to break the ice? This book is full of bad jokes that will do just that. Fair warning: If you’re not into bad puns, don’t pick up this book.

#50: Born Survivors by Wendy Holden
