I love Marie Lu. The Legend and The Young Elite series are both great and so entertaining. Her stuff is good so I assumed The Kingdom of Back would be the same. But mostly, the book was just meh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Hollywood generally lets us down when it comes to book-to-movie adaptations. The acting is never that good or the movie leaves out two-thirds of the book (I’m looking at you Percy Jackson…). But some movies somehow really capture a book and it can be so magical! You get to see these characters that lived in your head come to life on screen with REAL people. How cool is that?!
I’ve been waiting for Max Brooks to release another thriller and I was so psyched when I saw he was releasing a book this summer (so psyched it was one of Feyble’s most anticipated books of summer). When I read that the book was about Bigfoot, I was really disappointed. My hopes were so high and to know that this book was going to be about Bigfoot?! Really?! When has there ever been a good book about Bigfoot?!
When I heard that Mexican Gothic was being released this summer I couldn’t wait. In fact, it was one of Feyble’s most anticipated books of summer (for other anticipated reads, click here). And then I saw the cover and I’m pretty sure I drooled a little bit.
